Quick and easy hummus
Hummus is a delicious spread, made with chickpeas. I have tweaked this basic recipe for many years to make it just right for my taste and I hope you like it too.

- 800 grams chickpeas canned
- 3 tbsp tahini
- 2 tbsp cumin
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 6 tbsp olive oil
- 5 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
Drain the chickpeas but save the aquafaba (see tip below).
Juice the lemon.
Mince the garlic.
Mix all ingredients in a mixer, until smooth.
When using a standing mixer, add the runny ingredients first, your oil, tahini, lemon juice, to avoid chickpeas getting stuck in the bottom for easier mixing.
Save the aquafaba from the chickpeas to make vegan mareunges.
