Do you need a quick dipping sauce for your egg rolls or dim sum? Then this is the sauce for you. It is quick and easy and most of the ingredients you might already have in your cupboard, especially if you cook with a lot of Asian flavours. I use this sauce to dip most things in when I want to add a bit of spiciness to a dish.
Try this dipping sauce with my stuffed Asian inspired buns to make them even better.
The balance between the vinegar and the sriracha is the key to this dipping sauce, so taste as you mix and make adjustments as necessary.
Substitutes
If you don’t have sriracha at home, you can try any hot sauce. Taste as you mix, and you will be fine.
I sometimes make this with regular white wine vinegar, if I don’t have rice wine vinegar at home and I can’t really tell the difference, again taste it as you mix.

Variations
I have several different sauces that I tend to rotate between. Using them in different dishes gives me a variety that makes me want to cook them more. To find them all go to my Versatile sauces pinterest board, where I have collected my favourites.
